AA (Korean: 더블에이 ; acronym for Double A) is a five-member South Korean boy band formed by Well Made STAR M, the company that houses such actors as Ha Ji Won, Kim Seung Woo, Choi Jung Won, and Lee Jong Suk, in 2011. The group consists of Woosang (Leader), Aoora, Joowon, Hoik, and Kimchi. With their 100th days since debut fast approaching AA has already gained such nicknames as resume-dol, standalone idols, and Gaecheokdol. Aoora was the first to join the group. Looking for a company he could work with and make music he decided on Well Made STAR M with 100% confidence they'd help him achieve his dreams. Aoora then brought Woosang to the group, asking him to do the choreography for his music. The company then later added Juwon, Hoik, who had aspirations to be a singer and moved from Busan to Seoul to do so, and Kimchi, who'd quit learning the piano and clarinet to pursue his dream of becoming a singer.

AA revealed their first member, Aoora, on October 18. Aoora is rumored to be a talented vocalist and a rapper, who’s capable of composing and producing his own music.
Wellmade Star M revealed, “As a dance major from the Seoul Institute of the Arts, Aoora possesses strong dance skills as well as vocal skills, and stage manners that were fine-tuned by his appearances in musicals and other performances. He is a member who will be able to deliver both visual and audible pleasure that will definitely satisfy the audience.”

AA made their debut at the ‘2011 K-Pop Super Concert‘. The 5-member idol group has been creating quite the buzz with their catchy new ’sweep choreography’. The song "So Crazy" and its music video earned them much critical acclaim with their debut marked as "sexy and charismatic". Despite Aoora being the oldest, Woosang became leader.
On October 28, the boys took their first step as singers. AA performed for the first time in front of over 20,000 revelers catching performances by the latest K-Pop stars. The boys were joined by labelmate senior and actress Ha Ji-Won, who performed a sexy and powerful wave right alongside the rookies.
AA performed their self-produced debut track, “It’s Because I’m Crazy“. With a cuter choreography that showed off their diverse charms, they also performed a track off of their upcoming re-packaged album, “Okay About It“. More than anything, they impressed the crowd with their stable live performance skills.
In a subsequent interview, the boys stated, “We were really nervous about our first stage, but Ha Ji-Won’s support and our past rehearsals really helped a lot. We’ll take in the advice given to us by seniors like Ha Ji Won and Lee Jong Suk and continue to work hard.”
On November 4, 2011 Double A performed their debut stage live on KBS's Music Bank. The group also performed "So Crazy" on various music shows in South Korea such as MBC's Music Core, JTBC's Music On Top and SBS's Inkigayo.
